Travel: Isla Saona - Dominican Republic

Regt euch das trübe Winter-Matsch-Wetter hier auch so auf? Ich kann es wirklich kaum erwarten bis endlich wieder der Frühling bzw. danach der Sommer kommt und damit auch endlich wieder die Sonne scheint :)

Um euch bis dahin etwas auf andere Gedanken zu bringen, habe ich heute einen Sommer-Urlaubs-Post für euch. Ich möchte euch noch die Bilder vom letzten Dezember zeigen, wo wir auf der Dominikanischen Republik waren.

An einem Tag haben wir nämlich einen Ausflug auf einen nahe gelegene Insel gemacht, genannt Isla Saona. Leider war das Wetter nicht das Beste an diesem Tag (sonst hatten wir fast nur Sonne und ausgerechnet da war es bewölkt und hat sogar geregnet)! 

Hin fuhren wir mit einem Katamaran-Boot. Dann hatten wir ein tolles Barbecue auf der Insel und zurück ging es dann mit dem Speedboat. Zwischendrin haben wir dann noch halt gemacht, um mit Seesternen (We found Patrick! - haha!) zu schwimmen. 

Also, viel Spaß beim Anschauen & eine schöne restliche Woche - das Wochenende ist ja bald wieder da!

I am so upset with this rainy-winterly-shit-weather here in Germany! Do you also feel like this? I really can´t wait until spring and summer are there and we´ll finally get more sunshine! :) 

Until then, I would love to share some summer-holiday-pictures with you. They were taken last December, when we spend a wonderful time in the Dominican Republic. 

One day, we went on a trip to a

close Island, called Isla Saona. Unfortunately, the weather wasn´t very friendly that day (apart from that one day, we just had sun and nice weather!!) and it even rained for a few minutes. 

We went there with a catamaran boat which was pretty nice and fun! After that, we had a barbecue on the Island. One of the highlights of this trip was definitely on our way back with the speedboat, when we stopped at a very shallow beach to swim and snorkle with some starfish (yeah- we found Patrick! haha!).

New fuckin´York City Part 2

Ein frohes neues Jahr euch allen!!!

Ich hoffe, ihr hattet einen guten Start in das neue Jahr und ein tolles Silvester?

Heute möchte ich euch den zweiten Teil meines Spontantrips nach NYC zeigen. Alles über den ersten Tag bzw. ersten Teil könnt ihr HIER lesen. 

Der zweite Tag hat leider schon sehr früh angefangen, da ich unbedingt noch einiges sehen wollte und wir ja nur knappe 48 Stunden in der Stadt verbracht haben. 

Zuerst ging es vom Hotel aus zum Central Park. Wir sind direkt mit der Subway bis zum Eingang des Parks gegenüber des Plaza Hotels gefahren (768 5th Ave, New York, NY 10019, USA), da wir unbedingt das Plaza sowie die berühmte Eisfläche im Central Park sehen wollten.

Von dort aus hatten wir auch einen tollen Blick auf die Skyline New Yorks, wie ihr auf meinen Bildern sehen könnt. Das Wetter hat nochmal super mitgespielt; wir hatten wirklich Sonne pur und haben daher den Central Park auch nochmal in den wunderschönen Herbstfarben bewundern können. 

Nach dem Central Park ging es direkt zu Fuß zur "LOVE"-Sculpture (98 W 55th St., New York, NY 10019, USA). Nach einem Stärkungs-/Aufwärmungsstopp bei Starbucks, da es wirklich trotz Sonne eiskalt war, ging es weiter durch den Central Park bis zum Empire Hotel. 

Das Empire Hotel kannte ich natürlich aus Gossip Girl und wollte es daher unbedingt mal in echt sehen. Leider sah es von außen aber nicht sehr spektakulär aus. 

Direkt gegenüber vom Empire Hotel liegt das Lincoln Center, welches wir aber nur von außen angesehen haben. Danach ging es zu Fuß weiter zum Hudson River und anschließend wieder zu Fuß zurück Richtung Times Square. 

Auf dem Weg dorthin haben wir noch zufällig einen sehr berühmten Nachtclub entdeckt und die New York Times gesehen. :) 

Ich muss sagen, dass ich in den zwei Tagen wirklich unglaublich viel zu Fuß gelaufen bin (ca. 32km), aber es hat sich echt gelohnt, da man so wirklich am meisten entdeckt und sieht. Auch finde ich, dass in NYC zumindest die Hauptattraktionen, echt gut zu Fuß machbar sind und es reicht, ein-, zweimal die Subway zu benutzen. 

Am Times Square sind wir durch Zufall noch auf ein kleines, verstecktes asiatisches Restaurant gestoßen, wo es super gut geschmeckt hat und auch die Preise für New Yorker Verhältnisse ok waren. Anschließend ging es dann auch schon wieder, mit einem kurzem Zwischenstopp am Times Square mit einem meiner persönlichen Highlights von NYC (mein Freund und ich haben es nämlich geschafft auf einer der riesigen Leinwände am Times Square in einem Herz mit "Kiss Me" zu landen und alle haben gejubelt!!!! :)))- ich weiß, mega kitschig, aber trotzdem war es ein tolles Erlebnis!), zurück zum Flughafen Newark. 

Das war leider schon unser Kurztrip nach New York City! Ich muss sagen, wir haben wirklich einiges gesehen in den kurzen 48 Stunden und ich würde es sofort wieder machen, da es sich sowas von gelohnt hat! Man bekommt zwar nur einen kurzen Einblick, aber New York zählt für mich schon jetzt definitiv zu einer der schönsten und faszinierendsten Städte der Welt!!

Ich hoffe, dass ich bald wieder einmal in diese wunderschöne Stadt fliegen kann!

Happy New Year to all of you!

I hope you all had a good start in the new year and a great new years eve?

Today, I want to show you part two of my spontaneous trip to NYC. You can read everything about part one and our first day HERE. 

The second day started very early, because I still wanted to see a lot of things in the city and we just had about 48 hours in total. 

We started from the hotel and headed directly to Central Park. Therefore, we took the subway to the entrance of the park right across from the Palace Hotel (768 5th Ave, New York, NY 10019, USA), since we wanted to see the famous Plaza Hotel as well as the well-known ice scating area in the park. From there, we had a wonderful view to the skyline from NYC, as you can see in my pictures. 

The weather that day was perfect; it was super sunny with a blue sky and no clouds, so we could see the Central Park in its most beautiful and famous fall colors. 

After Central Park, we went straight to the "LOVE"-sculpture (98 W 55th St., New York, NY 10019, USA), which is pretty close and therefore within walkin distance. Then we had a warming-up/refreshment-coffee at the nearby Starbucks, because even if it was really sunny, it was still cold. From there we walked through Central Park to the Empire Hotel. 

I already knew the Empire Hotel from all the Gossip Girl scenes and so it was a MUST for me to see it! But from the outside it looked very unspectacular. 

Right across the Empire Hotel, you can find the Lincoln Center, which we just visited from the outside due to lack of time. From there we walked to the Hudson River and after that, again by foot, back to Times Square.  

On our way we accidentally saw a famous night club and the New York Times. :)

In theses 48 hours in NYC I almost walked around 32km by foot, but it was definitely worth it, because in this way we discovered a lot. Furthermore, all the main attractions are within walking distance and so it´s enough if you take the subway once or twice.

At Times Square, we randomly found a small, lovely asian restaurant where we had lunch. I can really recommend the restaurant, the food was super delicious. After lunch, we headed back to Newark Airport to get our flight back to Fort Myers, FL. In between, we shortly stopped at Times Square with one of my personal highlights of the whole trip: My boyfriend and I got pictured on one of the big screens in the middle of a "Kiss Me"-Heart and all the guys around us cheered! I know it sounds mega cheesy, but it was such a cool experience though!

That was pretty much our short trip to New fuckin´York City! We saw a lot of things in these short 48 hours and I would definitely do it again! Of course, you can just get a very short impression of this huge city, but for me New York is already one of the most beautiful and fascination cities of the whole world!

I just hope to be able to go back to New York soon!

Back in Germany

Hello loves, 

I hope you all had a wonderful and peaceful Christmas and nice holidays with your family. I am now back in Germany since almost one week :) It´s still a bit weird sometimes, but I am getting back to normal slowly. 

The weather takes the longest time getting used to. In the Dominican Republic it was always more than 30 degrees, back in Florida we still had around 30 degrees and now back in cold, winterly Germany it´s around 0 degrees. So I am still struggeling a bit with the coldness. 

I am so glad that at least it´s quite sunny at the moment here, so that I don´t have to give up the sun totally. 

There will be some upcoming posts about New York City and the Dominican Republic which I still have to show you! So stay tuned for them :) 

Today, I want to show you my first pictures from being back here in Germany. 

They were shot during a walk in my hometown Oberammergau, which is directly in the Alps, near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. 

I was wearing my Adidas Superstar shoes as well as my white ripped jeans from Glamorous by Asos. Therefore I combined my olive pullover from H&M, my leather jacket, my cape and my sunglasses from Aldo (unfortunately, I lost my other Aldo sunglasses with the blue glasses in the waves of the caribean sea). Additionally, I wore my new necklace from Nuwel Jewellery, which I got for Christmas as a present. 

Have a wonderful week guys! Tonight, I am heading to Wuerzburg for a wedding and then back to my hometown for new year´s eve!

Hallo meine Lieben, 

ich hoffe, ihr habt Weihnachten und die Feiertage gut im Kreis eurer Liebsten überstanden? Ich bin jetzt seid knapp einer Woche wieder zurück in Deutschland :) Manchmal ist echt noch recht komisch, aber so langsam kehrt wieder ein bisschen Normalität ein. 

Am gewöhnungsbedürftigsten ist natürlich noch das Wetter. Von über 30 Grad in der Dominikanischen Republik auf ca. 30 Grad in Florida und dann nochmal auf knappe 0 Grad runter hier in Deutschland, war und ist immer noch eine wahnsinnige Umstellung. Gott sei Dank ist es zurzeit aber so sonnig hier in Deutschland, sodass ich nicht ganz auf die Sonne verzichten muss. 

Demnächst muss ich noch meine restlichen Posts von New York City und der Dominikanischen Republik zeigen! Seid also gespannt :) 

Heute möchte ich euch meine ersten Bilder wieder zurück in Deutschland zeigen. 

Sie sind während eines Spaziergangs in meinem Heimatsdorf Oberammergau, nahe Garmisch-Partenkirchen, ganz in den Bergen entstanden. 

Ich trage meine Adidas Superstar sowie eine weiße Ripped Jeans von Glamorous by Asos. Dazu kombiniere ich einen olivfarbenen Pullover von H&M, meine Lederjacke, mein Cape sowie eine Sonnenbrille von Aldo (nachdem ich meine geliebte blau verspiegelte Sonnenbrille durch eine Welle im karibischen Meer verloren habe). Außerdem trage ich noch meine neue Kette von Nuwel Jewellery, die ich mir zu Weihnachten gewünscht hatte. 

Einen schöne Woche meine Lieben! Für mich geht es heute Abend noch für eine Hochzeit nach Würzburg und dann wieder zurück in meine Heimat für Silvester!

New fuckin´York City

Hi loves, 

while I am writing this post, I am currently sitting in a plane on my way to Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic. I am sooo excited for this trip. It is my first time in the Caribean and I can´t wait to discover everything J We (my boyfriend and I) are staying there for ten days, which should be enough time to enjoy everything and explore the island a bit. Our hotel will be the Bavaro Princess All Suites Resort, Spa & Casino.

But today I want to tell you about our trip to New York City. It was a very spontaneous and short trip, as we had less than 48 hours there, but I can tell you, it was so worth it!

I will do two seperated post, otherwise it will be too long, I guess haha!

So this post will be about our first day in New York City.

We had to stay up very early in the morning, because our flight from Fort Myers to JFK Airport, NYC was already at 6:30am. We had perfect weather, sunny and without clouds, so we could already see the Skyline of Manhattan from our plane. The view was absolutely amazing and I got really excited when I first saw it.

As soon as we arrived, we took the subway to Manhattan. First we visited the Brooklyn Bridge where we had an amazing view over whole Manhattan. After that we visited the State of Liberty (unfortunately because of lack of time, we just saw it from the shore and didn´t take the ferry, but I would definitely recommend to do that) and the Financial District with the Charging Bull, the New York Stock Exchange and the Wallstreet. From there we went directly to Ground Zero and the One World Observatory. It was one of the highlights of our trip. I really had mixed feelings about Ground Zero, but they made such a great memorial. I had goosebumbs when I saw it. The One World Observatory is such a stunning building! As you can see in my pictures, we had an absolutely amazing view over whole Manhattan and the $32 dollar entry is completely worth it!

The next tourist attraction we visited was the Grand Central Station, 5th Avenue and, of course, the big Christmas Tree at the Rockefeller Center with the iceskating area. It was so lovely to see all the Christmas decorations!! Actually, we wanted to see the Top of the Rock during sunset and then stay until it´s dark to see the Skyline, but unfortunately the first tickets we got were at 8pm. So we decided to go the Times Square first and then back for the Top of the Rock.

At Times Square, we ate in the „Bubba Gump“ restaurant which you might know from the movie „Forrest Gump“. It was located directly at Times Square which was perfect.

Our first day ended with watching the stunning skyline of Manhattan from Top of the Rock. It was so beautiful and unbelievable to see everything and I had goosebumbs again. I just couldn´t believe that I am in one of the most amazing cities in the whole world! I know so many places from movies so I was such a great feeling to finally see everything by myself! I couldn´t be happier!

During our first day I wore a thick grey turtleneck sweater (which I, by the way, just ordered for NYC as I didn´t had a single warm pullover with me in warm Florida), ripped white trousers, my beloved Adidas Stan Smith, my leather jacket and a warm cape which I also used as scarf. To this I combined my sunglasses from Aldo and some jewelry.

I was so glad to wear a turtleneck sweater in which I could snuggle in, as NYC was sunny, but still very cold! Maybe it felt even colder to me, because I am still used to the warm, sunny weather in Florida!

We spent our first (and also last, haha) night in the One Boutique Hotel in Queens. It had a great view to Manhattan and was also very close to public transportation. I can definitely recommend to stay in this hotel!

So this was pretty much our first day in NYC! I hope you guys enjoy reading and if you have any questions, just let me know and I will try to answer them J

Hallo meine Lieben,

während ich diesen Post verfasse, sitze ich schon im Flieger nach Punta Cana, in der Dominikanischen Republik. Ich bin schon total aufgeregt auf diesen Trip. Es ist das erste Mal, dass ich in der Karibik bin und ich kann es kaum erwarten, alles zu entdecken. J Wir (mein Freund und ich) werden dort für zehn Tage bleiben, was genug Zeit sein sollte, um alles genießen zu können und auch die Insel ein wenig zu entdecken. Unser Hotel wird das Bavara Princess All Suites Resort, Spa & Casino sein.

Aber heute möchte ich euch erstmal von unserem Trip nach New York City erzählen. Es war total spontan und auch sehr kurz, da wir weniger als 48 Stunden dort hatten, aber ich kann es sagen, es hat sich sowas von gelohnt!

Ich werde zwei seperate Posts darüber machen, da sie sonst zu lange werden, haha!

Dieser Post wird also über unseren ersten Tag in New York City gehen.

Wir mussten leider schon wirklich sehr früh aufstehen, da unser Flug von Fort Myers zum JFK-Airport, NYC, schon um 6:30 morgens ging. Wir hatten aber perfektes Wetter, sonning und keine Wolken, daher konnten wir schon von Weitem die Skyline von Manhattan von unserem Flugzeug aus sehen. Die Aussicht war wirklich unglaublich und ich wurde echt richtig aufgeregt, wo ich sie das erste Mal gesehen habe!

Sobald wir gelandet waren, haben wir die Subway nach Manhatten genommen. Als allererstes sind wir auf die Brooklyn Bridge, von wo aus wir eine tolle Aussicht auf ganz Manhatten hatten. Danach haben wir die Freiheitsstatue besichtigt (leider konnten wir aus Zeitgründen nicht die Fähre nehmen, was ich aber definitiv empfehlen würde, und konnten sie nur vom Ufer aus sehen), das Financial District mit dem Charging Bull, der New York Stock Exchange und der Wallstreet. Von dort aus sind wir direkt zum Ground Zero und dem One World Observatory. Das war definitiv eines der Highlights unseres Trips. Ich hatte wirklich gemischte Gefühle als wir dorthin kamen, aber dort haben sie echt ein bemerkenswertes Denkmal errichtet. Ich hatte echt Gänsehaut, als ich es gesehen habe. Das One World Observatory ist auch ein wahnsinnig beeindruckendes Gebäude! Wie ihr auf meinen Bildern sehen könnt, hatten wir eine absolut beeindruckende Aussicht auf ganz Manhattan und die $32 Dollar Eintritt dafür haben sich definitiv gelohnt!

Die nächste Touristenattraktion, die wir uns angeschaut haben, war die Grand Central Station, 5th Avenue und natürlich der große Weihnachtsbaum am Rockefeller Center mit der Schlittschuhlaufbahn. Es war total süß die ganzen Weihnachtsdekorationen zu sehen! Eigentlich wollten wir dann Top of the Rock während des Sonnenuntergangs sehen und dort bleiben bis es dunkel ist, um die Skyline zu sehen, aber leider waren die ersten Tickets, die wir dafür bekommen haben, um 20 Uhr. Also haben wir uns entschlossen, erstmal zum Times Square zu gehen und danach wieder zurück zu Top of the Rock.

Am Times Square haben wir im „Bubba Gump“ gegessen, was ihr vielleicht aus dem Film „Forrest Gump“ kennt. Es befindet sich direkt am Times Square, war also genau perfekt.

Unser erstes Tag hat damit geendet, dass wir noch auf Top of the Rock gefahren sind und dort die unglaubliche Aussicht auf die Skyline von Manhattan genossen haben. Es war einfach wunderschön und atemberaubend; ich hatte echt mal wieder Gänsehaut und konnte es einfach nicht glauben, endlich in NYC zu sein, einer der unglaublichsten Städte der Welt!! Ich kenne einfach so viele Orte schon aus Filmen, es war einfach so ein tolles Gefühl, endlich alles zu sehen! Ich hätte echt nicht glücklicher sein können!

Am ersten Tag trug ich einen dicken grauen Turtleneck Sweater (welchen ich übrigens extra für NYC gekauft hatte, da ich keinen einzigen dicken Pullover in Florida dabei hatte), meine weiße ripped Jeans, meine geliebten Adidas Stan Smith, eine Lederjacke und ein warmes Cape, welches ich auch als Schal genutzt habe. Dazu kombiniert habe ich meine Sonnenbrille von Aldo und Schmuck.

Ich war wirklich so froh einen Turtelneck Sweater zu tragen, in den ich mich reinkuscheln konnte, da es zwar sonning, aber trotzdem richtig kalt in NYC war. Wahrscheinlich hat es sich für mich nur noch dreimal kälter angefühlt, da ich das Sommerwetter aus Florida gewöhnt bin!

Unsere erste (und letzte) Nacht haben wir im One Boutique Hotel in Queens verbracht. Das Hotel hatte eine tolle Aussicht auf Manhatten und war auch sehr nah zu den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln. Auch ansonsten kann ich das Hotel vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis wirklich sehr empfehlen!

Das also im Großen und Ganzen unser erster Tag in NYC! Ich hoffe, euch gefällt mein Post und wenn ihr Fragen habt, nur zu! Ich werde versuchen, alle zu beantworten!
